From The Desk Of The Executive Producer

 #2  July 31, 2026

To My Valued Listeners,

As many of you know, I have dedicated years to preserving and promoting the authentic legacy of Motown. I do not support anything that diminishes, misrepresents, or distracts from the artists whose music continues to inspire generations.

My commitment has always been—and will remain—to Truth in Music, respect for the legends, and preserving their legacy.

Recently, a post promoting AI-generated music was removed from this group. That decision was made in accordance with the mission and purpose of this community. It was not personal, nor was it intended to diminish anyone’s creativity or aspirations.

Motown Memories With Sweet Pea was created to celebrate the authentic recordings, artists, musicians, songwriters, producers, and history of the Motown Sound. Content that falls outside of that mission—including the promotion of AI-generated music—does not align with the standards of this community and will not be permitted.

For those who may ask, yes, I occasionally use AI-assisted artwork as a creative tool to design promotional graphics for my radio shows, interviews, and events. Those graphics are clearly promotional in nature and are never presented as authentic historical images or recordings. My concern is not promotional artwork. My concern is the promotion of AI-generated music in a community whose mission is to preserve, honor, and celebrate the authentic legacy of Motown. There is a clear distinction, and my position remains unchanged.

This policy applies equally to everyone. Consistency is how I maintain the integrity of this group and honor the remarkable men and women whose music continues to enrich our lives.

The legends earned their place in music history through talent, dedication, perseverance, and timeless recordings. As Executive Producer, it is my responsibility to ensure that this community remains true to the purpose for which it was created.

Thank you for your understanding, your continued support, and for helping preserve one of the greatest musical legacies the world has ever known.

With appreciation,

Patricia “Sweet Pea” King

*"Mary Wilson and I used to talk all the time—either over the phone or through email. Whenever she sent an email, she'd always close with either 'Touch' or 'Dare to Dream.' That was just who she was—always uplifting, always inspiring.

When the pandemic hit, I told her I was planning a virtual awards ceremony. She was ecstatic—so genuinely excited. And when I said we wanted to honor her, she lit up even more, asking, 'What do I need to do?' I told her all we needed was a video of her accepting the award,

That same day, she sent it. That was Mary—always ready to celebrate, always ready to share her joy with the world

The very first Mary Wilson Dare to Dream Award was presented to Mary’s daughter, Turkessa Ferrer Babich, continuing her mother’s legacy of empowerment and excellence. For 2025, the award will be presented to none other than Susaye Greene and Scherrie Payne, both fellow members of The Supremes and true examples of artistry, resilience, and innovation.

Through this award, Mary Wilson’s voice and dream continue to inspire future generations—reminding us all to dream boldly, live fully, and dare greatly. Because dreaming wasn’t just something Mary did—it was something she encouraged in all of us."*                                                                                                                                                                                        Patricia King
